One of the most iconic and popular game for the Nintendo 8-bit system. This game is a masterpiece in its own class made by Capcom and released in December 24, 1988. The game is one of the classic video games together with Super Mario Bros and The legend of Zelda that has had such a big impact on the gaming industry ever since it was released.

You play as Megaman and the mission is to defeat the evil Dr Wily. This is a single player game only.

There is a stage select screen where you can choose which stage to enter. At the end of each stage you meet the boss in a fight for the specific themed stage. There is no correct order to enter the stages it is more of a personal preferred order.

  3. Flashman
  4. Wood Man
  5. Air Man
  6. Crash Man
  7. Heat Man
  8. Quick Man

Music in Megaman 2 is exceptional!

I love the Megaman 2 music. It is one of the best for a NES game. Here are a few melodies from the game. The music is written by Takashi Tateishi and programmed by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi better known as Yuukichan’s Papa and later Oyabun.

The game had no way of saving game progress so it used a password system.

Gameplay Hints

Effective attack on Woodman

Using Metalmans saw discs are extremely effective on Woodman. Saw discs are optimal to cut wood just as in real life.

Cool down Quickman!

Flashman’s time stopper is effective to get annoying enemies to stay calm. But it can also be used as an offensive weapon against Quickman. Face him with a fully loaded time-stopper and you will lower his force by half without having to fight at all.
